Abacws - Cardiff

HFL are delighted to have been awarded the Maintenance contract for Abacws, Cardiff University's new home for its Schools of Computer Science and Informatics and of Mathematics. The 10,000sq m building is a world class facility which recently completed in September 2021 and includes the following:

• Flexible lecture theatres and seminar rooms with innovative layouts to encourage interaction;
• Dedicated spaces for student project work;
• Computer labs designed to enable group work as well as classes and individual study;
• Spaces open to the University's industrial partners to enable engagement with the students;
• Makerspace and IT workshop to support practical computer science projects;
• New simulated Trading Room for financial mathematics;
• Cybersecurity lab for teaching and research.
