HFL Building Solutions have been awarded their first Technical Facilities Maintenance contract with DTZ at 58 Mosley Street, Manchester, starting on the 1st May 2012. The tender not only included the landlord areas, but the tenanted areas occupied by the law firm Cobbetts.
To qualify for this tender HFL Building Solutions had to go through the task of becoming a Buying Force preferred supplier, not an easy item to achieve.
58 Mosley Street building is a 120,000 sq ft office building situated in the commercial heart of Manchester city centre. Seven of the eight stories are leased to the law firm Cobbetts. The ground floor contains retail units which are let to tenants such as Sainsbury’s.
The facade of the building is key to its success. It has been sensitively designed to bridge the gap between the traditional solid and the newer, taller, glass buildings on the street. Cobbetts House provides a balance to Mosley Street which complements the history of the area while providing a modern and efficient building.
The integrated steel frame and concrete facade of the building allow the internal office spaces to be relatively column free; maximising the flexibility of the space and providing higher net to gross ratios. The louvers and the protruding concrete frame give the building its defining characteristics, while helping to shade the building from the intensity of the sun and reducing demand on the air conditioning system.
DTZ awarded HFL Building Solutions not only the way they understood DTZ’s requirements, but of their up and coming reputation in the Technical Facilities Maintenance industry within Central and Northern England.
